COMPETITION RULES

COMETITION FORMAT

There are 2 categories of competition held on different club meetings.
1. Print
2. Digital Projected image

Each Competition will have 2 sections
Set subject
Open subject

Both sections can be interpreted as seen by the photographer's imagination.
There will be a different competition judge for each round, as available

POINTS SYSTEM

Both sections have the same points for each category
10 points for First (1st)
8 points for Second (2nd)
6 points for Third (3rd)
4 points for Highly Commended (HC)
2 points for Commended (C)
(Number of HC’s and C’s given at judge’s discretion)
1 point for each unawarded entry.

AWARDS

At every print competition, individuals awarded 1st, 2nd, 3rd, HC and C will be given award labels for their prints. Likewise, in projected image competitions, certificates will be presented.

At the end of the year (August), The total number of points from each competition will decide the overall winners. There will be two overall winner's trophies awarded (One for prints and one for digital projected image), which can be held for a year.
The winner's name will be engraved on them.

ENTRY CRITERIA

PRINTS

Maximum print size A3 42cm x 30cm (16.5” x 12”).
Minimum print size A5 21cm x 15cm (8.25”x 6“)
Prints must be Mounted but un-framed.
Maximum mount size 50cm x 40cm (20” x 16”). A combination of smaller prints, e.g. A6 (6”x4”) mounted on a single mount as a set, will be accepted as a single entry.
All Prints must show, Section (i.e., SET or OPEN) and TITLE, your COMPETITOR NUMBER on the reverse in large clear lettering. Do not put your name on the entry. Please note - A digital image of all prints must be supplied on CD or memory stick following the same criteria as projected image files.

DIGITAL PROJECTED IMAGE

Digital images must be saved as a jpeg on a CD or memory stick or e-mailed to the competition secretary before the closing date.
Image files must be resized to a maximum of 1600 pixels wide by 1200 pixels high FOR LANDSCAPE, and a maximum 1200 pixels high FOR PORTRAIT. SQUARE images must be a maximum of 1200 pixels. The file should be named, using Set or Open, followed by underscore then the TITLE, underscore then your COMPETITOR number.
(i.e., Set_Foxy Loxy_65 or Open_Foxy Loxy_65)

All entrants must be fully paid-up members of the Barn and the Camera Club.
A total of up to 3 entries per section may be submitted (i.e., up to 6 entries per competition, 3 set and 3 open)

Work that has won 1st, 2nd, or 3rd, Highly Commended or Commended in previous competitions may not be re-entered.
Any work entered and NOT placed must NOT be resubmitted within 12 months.
The submitting photographer must have produced the work i.e., taken and edited the image. Prints may be printed commercially.
All entries should be handed to the competition secretary by the closing date stated on the competition entry form and on the programme.
The entry date will usually be 2 weeks before the competition.
Entries failing to comply with the above rules will be subject to the competition secretary’s discretion regarding eligibility.
